Welcome to my online journal

I’ve been wanting to set this up for over a year now. What initially prompted me was one evening, while writing a status update on Facebook, I end up hitting the character limit as I was progressing in my philosophical flow, how whack, lol! I then of course ended up searching through Facebook help and Google for where I could find the functionality to share notes or articles, which I remembered Facebook having some time back, because I really wanted to get my full point across as a summary wouldn’t suffice. As I was doing my digging and research, I discovered that Facebook removed this feature a while back in 2017, and it in fact was only available for business pages now. When I arrived at that point, not only did I get annoyed that I just wasted my time, I had also completely lost my chain of thinking for what I wanted to post anyway, and therefore never ended up sharing what I was inspired to share, restricted by limitations, something I, fortunately, don’t have here! For better or worse, we shall see! 🙂

As you can imagine a journal is very personal, and what’s written will likely include insights into my life, my thoughts, my beliefs, my questions, my problems, my ideas, and my knowledge. I’m not looking for a large audience to read, like, and share my entries, but rather a community and network that engage, grow, and add value. I’m not looking for negative energy or people with no direction and opinions of their own. I’m looking for the conscious and futuristic thinker, the leader, game-changer, and go-getter! Just because we are friends, family, work colleagues, or acquaintances, doesn’t mean you get automatic access. The only people that get automatic access because they pretty much already have real-time access are my immediate family. For everyone else, I need to know who you are and why you’re interested in what I have to say. Google Analytics – Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity. Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Links To Other Sites

My website may contain links to other sites that are not operated by me. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. I strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.

I have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

How long I retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on my website (if any), I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on my website or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Children’s Privacy

My website does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”).

I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children have provided me with Personal Data, please contact me. If I become aware that I have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, I will take steps to remove that information from my servers.
